1st place winner in the ACTHA
(American Competitive Trail Horse Assn) Pleasure Division,
first time out!
'08 AQHA if red roan colt by Good Cruiser. I raised him, have his mom-Varsity Cheerleaguer, as well(her palomino by Stats First Goodbar (foaled in '12) is available
This fella is really riding around nicely, soft on the bit, lopes easily with just an outside leg cue, takes his leads, has been started roping and is handy to your leg-sidepass/etc.
Trail ridden all over already. VERY quiet. Just finished a refresher and intro course in to the pleasure/HUS and going around nicely(back in july).
Super good minded colt, not just because I raised him, he really is a good boy. He is the kind you can get out and get right on. Hes growing and I need to measure him, hes about 15.1-2 ish now, He will lope off and take his leads steadily, come onto the bit and set his head nicely, jog softly and rounded and long trot the same. Side passes, backs, clips/bathes/loads/you can do anything with him. not spooky in any way-shape or form.
Really. Ride him down the road with cars going by. Hes a good minded fellow even if I did raise him! Competed in his second ACTHA ride and went through ALL the obstacles.
So far hes completed the following obstacles from ACTHA(in addition to all of OUR obstacles on our trails too!)
-water crossing with culvert
-steep hill climb(40 feet)
-log sidepass and walk over
-step up platform, pivot, step off
-pick up hat with a stick from the ground(while on horse)
-open gate and sidepass through, pivot, close gate
-dismount, mount
-dismount, fly spray(while standing still) remount
-ride through a pass of 'vines' aka speghetti noodle streamers hanging down everywhere
-ride across stream, open mailbox and close, complete trot off course to marker
-trot over poles
Trail video is at Love Valley, NC it was his first "real" trail ride. He was a "gooood boy"
