Sierra 9 Year old QH bay roan mare sierra has been sold
This mare is looking for her right person but she has a home here until they come along. I have had her on and off the farm for several years. Most people pass her by because I don't have her papers - if I had them she would not be for sale and would be in my broodmare band. Others want something for a complete beginner to do lessons on(she does work for that, with guidance, I have given lessons on her) she will also tote a beginner around the trails point and shoot style around other horses and is very safe, steady and proficient with: -crossing bridges -navigating rough terrain or "making trails" -carrying saddle bags and back cinches, machetes, even a rifle -checking fence lines solo, or riding with a group of several -traffic, other horses and cars right next to her -ring work group work, not rushing just because the crowd does -gunshots and loud noises don't bother her -easy around cattle and even tracked some! She is really handy broke (responsive, not crazy... she turns easily when you ask her to, she picks up her speed and slows down when you ask with seat and leg cues) and would make an intermediate rider a heck of an all around horse and steady for the ranch classes at the open shows. Would be a dang awesome mounted shooting horse right here! Sound, no vices. Sturdy and correct. No papers. Branded. Safe around cows, rides off alone, rides bareback, with halter or bitless, with snaffle or shank, she will w-t-c and is smooth. 14.3h
Video below Wyatt is 6'2 riding the trail video rider is also 6'2"
We have used her to guide younger horses along the trail and to pony colts, and for novice riders to get an idea of a relaxing, comfortable trail ride. She will collect, set her head, has rate and control at the jog, (she has an awesome little slow comfortable jog) she will walk until you ask her otherwise.
She will canter and slow lope but it is more of a "lets get on to whatever we have to do" kinda thing, no buck or issues, she was used to sort and pen cattle by the sizes, and has been worked on the farm checking fence lines, and to joyride. She bathes, loads, backs off the trailer and is the same horse everytime you ride her. Sound, no vices, she came from out west as a 3 yr old. We do not have papers on her, but shes been on the same farm for several years. She stands 14.3 and is very stocky. Her roan hairs can be seen easier up close but they are all over her.
